Positive Education brings together the science of Positive Psychology with best practice teaching to encourage and support individuals, schools and communities to flourish. We refer to flourishing as a combination of ‘feeling good and doing well' . Positive Education focuses on specific skills that assist students to strengthen their relationships, build positive emotions, think optimistically, enhance personal resilience, promote mindfulness and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
Through teaching these valuable life skills, Mount Kuring-gai Public School is able to lead an informed and resilient community where students, staff and families feel supported and have a strong foundation on which they can build upon.
Positive Education is an initiative adopted by Mount Kuring-gai Public School, dedicated to improving student and staff wellbeing.
Classes participate in Positive Education lessons every second Wednesday (see lessons below). These lessons are developed by the School Wellbeing Team, ensuring they are targeted to our school directions and the needs of our students.
We encourage families to view these lessons and discuss the core messages with their children at home.
